Elton John and Britney Spears release ‘Tiny Dancer’ duet ‘Hold Me Closer’

Just Months After being released from a nearly 14-year conservatorship, Britney Spears has made her official return to music.

Ad libs from both John and Spears — including Spears’ signature, vocal-fried “baby” - are spread throughout the song.

Brintey Spears and Elton John have released “Hold Me Closer,” a reimagined duet of the piano man’s immortal tune, “Tiny Dancer.”

“I am absolutely thrilled to have had the chance to work with Britney Spears,” John said.

Spears shared her excitement for the track ahead of the release, saying working with John was “a big deal to me.” 

The song is Spears' first new music release in six years since her conservatism ended in November 2021.

“Tiny Dancer” was originally released in 1971 and was a minor hit in the U.S. and Europe at the time.

“Hold Me Closer” is Spears’ first official single since “Slumber Party,” which appeared on her 2016 album, “Glory.”

John and Spears first met in 2014 at an Oscar viewing party.
